Hi there, my name is Julie and I'm fundraising 3k for my friend Ashely.
I am raising funds to help her make her new apartment a home for her and her 3 wonderful boys. I have now known Ashley for 6 years and in this time I have seen her move mountains to care for her children in a way that only mothers can do. I have had the honor to watch her strength and commitment to be the best mom she can time and time again through the most challenging times.
A little history on Ashley, she is a woman who took on making a life for herself after spending much of her childhood in foster care. She has become a strong Black woman with the most gentle heart. Life could have made her hard but she continuously chooses love and kindness. While doing so much healing for herself she also has spent the last 12 years healing others not just physically with her massage therapy but also spiritually with the way she shows up and has genuine love for those around her, even those she barely knows. The love for her children and commitment to be a good mother runs so deep that for a time she lived in Las Vegas and traveled to the bay area every weekend so her boys would have a stable home while she held up her clientele in the Bay.
While she has been back in the bay for a few years now she finally has the opportunity to give her children a stable and safe home with just her, their mother. Moving out on your own is not easy, let alone here in the bay area. She luckily found a place near the kids high school so they can stay in the same school. She is moving with little to no furniture, mostly just the beds her kids sleep, a few donation items on and not much else. Rent in the bay area is at an all time high and is struggling to receive any support from her toddlers father.
As someone who moved every year and never had a permanent home until adulthood it feels so important to me to help my friend make a home for her and her children. For them to have a stable and safe home will have an impact for their entire lives.
Help me make her transition into single motherhood as easy as possible.
