Asil's Story – A Mother’s Search for Safety After the Hell of War
In the heart of Gaza, where no place is truly safe and the nights are filled with the sound of bombs, Asil clung to hope — and to her two-year-old son, Hamza.
After her husband was arrested by the occupying forces, Asil was left alone. She fled from one place to another, trying to escape the constant bombardment. Then, one night, an airstrike hit her home. She and Hamza survived — but everything else was gone. No home. No safety. No stability.
Still, Asil didn’t give up. For the sake of her child, she kept going.
Eventually, she managed to flee Gaza and reach Lecce, Italy, with little more than her child in her arms and trauma in her heart. But while the bombs have stopped, the struggle hasn’t. In Italy, most rental homes cost no less than €800 a month — an impossible amount for a mother fresh out of war, with no job, no income, and no knowledge of the Italian language.
Now, we have a chance to give Asil a real beginning.
We found a small house for €80,000 — the lowest price we could find in the area. A simple, safe place where Asil and her son can live, rebuild, and finally breathe without fear.
We need your help.
Every contribution, no matter how small, brings her one step closer to safety. One step closer to giving her son the life he deserves. One step closer to healing.
Be part of her journey. Share her story. Donate if you can.
Let’s give Asil and little Hamza a home — a future — and a reason to believe in humanity again.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who donates, shares, or simply cares.
May you be rewarded for your kindness.
