Each season, our audiences gather at the Chautauqua picnic pavilion, then journey together up the trails to watch stories unfold beneath the Flatirons. Theatre becomes more than a performance — it becomes an experience woven into the natural beauty of Boulder. Families, hikers, students, and visitors alike share in the joy of art in the open air.

But Arts in the Open is more than our shows. We host workshops that give people the chance to create, explore, and grow confidence surrounded by Colorado’s mountains and campgrounds. We provide opportunities for local artists to work, collaborate, and share their talents with our community. We believe that art should be accessible, adventurous, and rooted in the place we call home.
