Help Support ArtistStan's family in their time of loss

On December 25, 2025, at 8:57pm ArtistStan passed away. Written below is ArtistStan's story prior to his passing.

My name is ArtistStan. I have been active in the Transformers fan community since 2019. I am probably most well known for animating a short sequence of deleted storyboards from Transformers the Movie 1986.

My health took a very sudden turn for the worse in late May / early June 2023 and I had to admit myself to the ER with the help of my wife (no ambulance thankfully).

Once in the hospital, they found that my hemoglobin count was extremely low (less than 1/3 normal) and that I may have an autoimmune condition where I have antibodies that attack and break down my red blood cells. The emergency 5 units of blood transfusions temporarily stabilized my hemoglobin count but my condition worsened again only a month later.

In March 2024, my hemoglobin was now 1/6 that of a healthy male, and I was near death. I was hospitalized for a month in MD Anderson, receiving constant blood transfusions to keep my hemoglobin levels steady. While in the hospital, I dropped to 100lbs and lost so much leg muscle that I needed a wheelchair or walker.

After a lot of tests, I was diagnosed with splenic marginal zone Lymphoma, along with hemolytic anemia and cold agglutinin disease. This combination of ailments is very devastating for the body and despite almost a year and a half of treatments and 100+ blood tranfusions, my body, while stabilized, is still in a very dangerous and life threatening state due to ongoing blood, anemia and liver problems. I am completely unable to even consider part-time or full-time work.

Financially, you all have helped me for several years and the time has come again for my yearly deductible of $6,900. I will have to bear the full cost of my blood tests, blood transfusions, imaging and specialist visits until I meet the $6,900 threshold for 2026. Your donations would be greatly appreciated by me, my wife, my 20 year old son and 18 year old son (both in college), as we work through this difficult time. My wife is the only one able to work, and it is not enough to maintain all of our living expenses, college expenses and hospital expenses.

I am thankfully still able to draw (limited due to anemia). It is the only way I can pass some time and stay connected with the wonderful and supportive Transformers fan community. I do livestreams when I have enough energy and chat with others about art, philosophy and living with sickness.

I will keep everyone updated on prognosis and outlook on life. Thank you for your time and til all are one.
