[Urgent help needed!] ICE has detained and deported my brother, and he needs support starting a new life in France.

Hello everyone. My name is Emilie Hambarsonpour and I am humbly reaching out to family, friends, and anyone else who has space to give - my family is facing an immense struggle and we are in need of community support.

My little brother Artin has been legally deported and held in an ICE-operated detention center for the last six months. This occurred because he was born in France and is not a U.S. citizen despite having lived here since he was eight years old. He had a tough upbringing and didn't receive adequate support growing up. As a result, Artin was never able to obtain citizenship and now his fate is in the hands of ICE.

Last week we found out that Artin will be sent to France. This news is bittersweet - although this will be the fresh start that we've always dreamed of, this also means that he won't be able to say goodbye to his family here in the U.S., including our mom and brother who can't travel at this time. As his sister, and the only family member currently able to travel freely, I am deeply committed to be there for him through this journey. I believe that he deserves a life he has never experienced and trust that he is ready.

Artin currently has nothing, and he doesn't have many close relationships with people in France outside of distant family he hasn't seen in 25+ years. He will be put on a plane with just the clothes on his back in a matter of days. Any amount of support covering the basics will increase his chances of success in this completely new environment. Financial contributions will be used to help him buy food, clothing, phone, and cover lodging and other essentials.
