Help Armenian Families from Artsakh with Housing
Donation protected

Hello,
My name is Maria Ayvazian, I am 15 years old, from Virginia, USA. Together with my cousin, Eduard Yeremyan, a high school student from Yerevan, Armenia, who is currently helping Artsakhtsi families in Goris town of Syunik region/Armenia, we need your help.
As a result of a large-scale military attack against the Armenian population of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) launched by Azerbaijan on September 19, 2023, hundreds of Armenians were killed, wounded, thousands of families were separated, and more than hundred thousand people were forcibly displaced from their homes. These families faced unimaginable challenges as they were forced to leave behind their communities, livelihoods, and memories… As half Artsakhtsi, who spent so many summers in beautiful Stepanakert and Shushi with Eduard and family, my heart is broken.
Close your eyes for a second and imagine the heart-wrenching decision of leaving behind the land where your family has lived for generations. Just imagine that you are forced to flee for your life, for your children, leaving your home and everything behind, with lots of uncertainties and fears when looking forward. The trauma of displacement took its toll mostly on children's well-being who longed for a secure home since the blockade of Artsakh.
Despite the hardships, the Armenian community came together to provide support. Temporary housing and basic necessities were offered. BUT these resources are very limited and so much work needs to be done, particularly with harsh winter knocking the door. All these people dream of a place to call home, a place where they can heal and rebuild their futures after so many years of struggle.
Now, we have the power to make a meaningful impact. Our GoFundMe initiative - "Homes of Hope" - is the first campaign of the "Youth for Armenia" NGO founded by Eduard and I with the goal to raise funds to provide Artsakhtsi families with safe housing. Your donations will help to fund housing for 10 displaced families equipped with the essential amenities and secure their stay in those houses for a year. The funds will be used to rent houses for these 10 families for an entire year. We will contact the landlords for rental agreements and transport the displaced families to their new homes. In case there is a need, the funds will be also used to provide these families with food, appliances and amenities.
"Hope for Home" is more than just a campaign; it's an opportunity to prove that we as a community are stronger than ever. Every dollar you donate brings us one step closer to providing our Artsakhtsi families with the security and dignity they deserve. Together, we can be the light that guides Artsakhtsiner on their journey to rebuild, recover, and thrive once more.
Join us in making a real and lasting impact. Donate today and be a part of their journey to hope and home!
Update: Exciting news to share! Yeremyan Projects, with Davit Yeremyan, and other supporters from both the Diaspora and Armenia, have joined forces to support this initiative.
