Arlo and I live with RUNX1, a rare genetic disorder that carries a very high risk of us developing leukemia and other serious blood diseases. It is something we think about every single day.

What has given us hope is the RUNX1 research program and the clinical trials they have made possible. I have participated in three clinical trials and a history study so far, all with one goal: helping researchers find treatments, prevention strategies, and hopefully someday a cure for families like ours.

Now our son Arlo wants to participate too.

As a parent, it is incredibly emotional knowing your child carries the same risks you do. But we are deeply grateful that these trials exist and that there is finally real progress being made.

Participating in clinical trials comes with major costs, that are unfathomable for many people. We are asking for help so we can continue being part of this research and give Arlo the opportunity to participate as well.

We do not want leukemia to be our future. We want hope, answers, and a chance at prevention for our family and for others living with RUNX1.
