Help Aric & Bubby Find Their Way Home!
Some people come into your life and remind you what resilience actually looks like. Aric is one of those people.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, a Cedar-Sinai baby who grew up with this city in his bones, he's talented, hardworking, and one of the most genuine souls I've ever met. And wherever Aric goes, his dog Bubby goes too. Through every hard night and uncertain morning, it's been the two of them, side by side.
From what I can tell, Bubby is more than Aric's pet. He's Aric's family, his constant, his reason to keep going. If you've ever had a dog who looked at you like you were their whole world, you already understand everything you need to know about these two.
After chatting with Aric several times over a couple of months, I learned his incredible story. In 2023, Aric moved back to LA from the East Coast to help a friend launch an automotive business, pouring his heart into it and even bringing in a financing partner to help get it off the ground.
He became the store manager and part-owner. He believed in it. He believed in the people around him. What he didn't know was that those people were acting in bad faith the entire time. When it all fell apart, his partners took what they could and left. Aric then discovered that even the apartment tied to the job had been under eviction without his knowledge. Overnight, he lost his income, his home, and his savings.
Every last dollar went to hotels and rental cars just trying to keep a roof over his head and keep Bubby safe.
Today, Aric and Bubby are sleeping in a van. That van has become their home, their shelter, and the place where Bubby curls up next to Aric every single night. They have each other, and that love is real and it's beautiful. But they deserve so much more than that.
What most people don't know about Aric is how much he's already built in this life. He has an IMDB credit as 2nd AC. He's a published photographer whose work for Erewhon ran in the LA Times. He shoots with drones and DSLRs, he's practiced energy healing and bodywork, and he's been quietly building a live-streaming business from the ground up.
And then there's Bubby. Sweet, beautiful Bubby, who Aric believes deserves to be seen by as many people as possible. He's been exploring print and commercial work for him, because if you've ever spent five minutes with this dog, you'd understand why. Bubby has that rare, magical quality that makes people stop and smile. He's kept Aric's light on through the darkest stretch of his life.
What we're raising money for is simple: a safe place to live for Aric and Bubby, reliable transportation so Aric can take on gig work and client jobs, and the basic tools to get his creative work back up and running so he can support himself long-term.
If this story moves you, please give what you can. And if you can't give, please share. Sometimes the most powerful thing is just making sure the right person sees this. Aric and Bubby deserve a home. Help us get them there.
