Turo host and small business owner in Phoenix, Arizona. Long story short, we were renting one of our vehicles to a woman named April and the vehicle did not get returned on time. Upon connecting with April, she admitted that she is homeless with her eight month old son and was using the vehicle to sleep in. We were able to contact a City of Phoenix resource team and get her into a hotel on Saturday night. Unfortunately, there were no other housing resources available for her currently beyond one night. She is completely out of resources at this point. Jayden is her eight month old extremely happy, healthy and well taken care of baby boy. We would like to use the funds from this crowdsourcing to extend the hotel that we have paid for through Friday am. From my calls and research, this does not seem like it will be a short process to get into transitional housing. With any additional funds that are raised, they will go directly towards items like a Phoenix city bus pass, everyday essentials, like groceries, personal hygiene items, formula, diapers. The current hotel that she is staying at is in a good location on a bus route and within walking distance to CVS and Target. I feel as though it is best for her to stay at this location until a different more long-term and safe solution can be provided. Thank you for your consideration and help with this situation.
