On the morning of September 18, 2025, Antoni, a dedicated worker at a Washington D.C. auto body shop, was taken by ICE shortly after arriving at work. This occurred despite his possessing a valid US work permit, and his family actively pursuing asylum in the US.
Three years prior, Antoni, his wife, and their now six-year-old son, immigrated to the US from El Salvador, seeking a better life. Antoni is described by his wife as a wonderful, friendly person, a great father, and a soccer enthusiast. He is a person just like you and me with no criminal record, yet his detention by ICE has devastated his family. His wife is currently struggling to find legal assistance and manage household bills, and their son cries at night, confused about his father's absence.
