Help Anthony’s family create memories ❤️
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Samuel Weidenhofer. I run a kindness and mental health movement where I make dreams come true for kids and families facing heartbreaking challenges.
Recently, I had the privilege of surprising Anthony Castillo — a polite, kind-hearted 14-year-old , with the chance to meet his hero, Alex Warren. Watching Anthony light up in that moment is something his family and I will never forget.
Anthony’s journey has been unimaginably tough. After months of being misdiagnosed for his severe leg pain, doctors eventually discovered he had a rare and aggressive cancer called Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumour (MPNST). Despite surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy, the cancer has spread. His doctors have told the family that his time left is limited.
Anthony is so much more than his illness. He loves God and Bible stories, is a huge Geelong supporter, loves his food, has a funny and gentle spirit, and comes from a very close family of five — his devoted single mum and three siblings. His mum has stepped away from work to care for him full-time, and the financial strain has become overwhelming.
This fundraiser is about lifting some of that burden. It’s about giving Anthony and his family the ability to spend their time together making memories, enjoying special experiences, and facing this difficult journey with a little less stress.
Every dollar raised will go directly to the Castillo family to support their day-to-day needs and help them create moments that will last forever. (Carmel the beneficiary is a family friend, and will distribute the funds to Rebecca, Anthony’s Mum
(We might do a part 2 depending on how much is raised)
Anthony’s story is one of courage, love, and faith. Together, we can show this family that they are not alone, and surround them with the kindness and support they deserve.
(They do have another go fund me from family & friends w $16,000 or so, however it’s from a long period of time and I wanted to create a new one, focused on them creating memories)
If you can donate — big or small — or share this fundraiser, you will be helping give Anthony and his family the gift of time, joy, and dignity.
Thank you for your kindness,
– Sam
