Back in February of this year, while on a simple visit to check in on my brother in New York, things took a turn for the worst. A five day visit turned into a three month stay, with two months of it involving Anthony being hospitalized with MRSA, a stage 4 bed ulcer, and a fracture of the tibia and fibula of his left leg. He was also down to just 90lbs, 30lbs well under his normal body weight. The place that he once excitedly called home and relied on for care failed him.
Fast forward six months. Through the power of unwavering prayer and constant care, Anthony has recovered tremendously, is happy and healthy, and home with my family and I in Florida now. My husband and I have worked very hard day to day to get our guy everything that he needs. We still pay for a lot of his needs out of pocket, but we do what we can.
Unfortunately, one of our biggest obstacles has been transportation. We would love to be able to take Anthony out on a regular basis to enjoy the simple things…a Walmart or Target run (he loves to shop for himself) , a trip to the movies, lunch or dinner at a local restaurant, a visit to the zoo or other family fun road trip.
We would like to purchase a used WAV (wheelchair accessible vehicle) to help us get him around more often to enjoy all the things!
Any amount of help is greatly appreciated! Please feel free to share. Most importantly, we ask that you please keep Anthony in your prayers for continued health and progress. Thank you :)
