My name is Annie. I’m 70 years old and counting. I’m working hard to build a more stable and secure future for myself and my two cats.

For over five years, I’ve been renting the same home. When I first moved in, the rent was manageable—but it has increased every year, and now nearly three-quarters of my income goes just to keeping a roof over mine and my fur babies heads. Even with my job and a small Social Security benefit, I’m left with almost nothing at the end of each month.

Because of that, I’ve been unable to save toward something better—a modest modular home of my own. My goal is simple: to move away from rising rent and uncertainty, and into a small, stable home where I can live comfortably, independently, and affordably.

At this stage in my life, stability matters more than ever. I have ongoing health concerns that require additional testing, but I often have to delay care because I can’t afford the copays. On top of that, I have two cats—my emotional support companions—who depend on me, and even routine veterinary care has become difficult to manage without going into debt. One of my cats has health issues that I have not been able to maintain care for. She's going downhill fast.

I’m not looking for anything extravagant. I’m asking for help to cover a down payment on a modest home, along with necessary moving expenses and medical and veterinary costs. This would allow me to finally get ahead instead of just getting by. And this would give me peace of mind at last, knowing that my cats health matters were tended to.
