My name is Anne, and I’m a 57-year-old disabled woman living with my dog Ace, who I rescued over four years ago. Ace is mentally challenged from previous abuse, and we’ve been each other’s only family ever since. We live in a 17ft travel trailer parked on a road in the industrial side of Las Vegas, NV. Our trailer has no running water or electricity. Last summer, I used a generator to power a portable AC and keep my phone charged, but it suddenly stopped working and no one has been able to fix it. Now, with summer starting early in Las Vegas, we have no air in the trailer and no generator to power the AC. I try to keep Ace cool with a small USB-powered air conditioner and a solar fan, but they can only help one of us at a time.
Recently, Metro tagged my trailer and gave me until the end of this month to move it or lose everything inside. I can’t move it to any trailer park in Nevada because it’s too old and in rough shape. Out of four tires, three are flat, and I have no transportation or anywhere else to go with Ace. This trailer is all we have. If I don’t get help with new tires and find a safe place to move, Metro will tow it away, and I could lose Ace and everything I own. I’m terrified for both of us.
Donations will help put tires on the trailer so I can move it safely, cover transportation costs, and go toward finding a private lot to rent where we can stay safely. Funds will also help buy a new generator for air conditioning and cover other needed repairs to keep our home livable for me and Ace. Right now, we just need any help we can get—and fast—because of the deadline. Any support means the world to us.
