Help Angela and Ziggy make a lead-free home
Angela has been fixing up a 100 old home in Detroit for her family over the past 5 years. When Ziggy’s lead levels came back high last year, Angela was devastated. Sadly, it’s not uncommon in old homes, and professional lead abatement is expensive. Thankfully Angela qualified for Michigan’s lead abatement program, which covers the majority of the costs. In order to proceed with the program, Angela has to contribute $2900 by April 30th. After a year of working from home and watching Ziggy full-time, Angela finally left her job to focus on Ziggy’s health and finishing her home renovations, but unemployment and food assistance is barely enough to get by. Angela and her community have put a lot of work into this home, and this program will ensure that the home is fully renovated and safe. Angela
is seeking additional support right now to make sure that her home is safe. Any additional money will go towards living costs while they have to relocate during construction, and additional repairs not covered by the program. Anything you can contribute is greatly appreciated.
