Hey friends! I am secretly raising money for my husband. If you know Andy at all, you know he is a very giving person. He gives his time, his money, his advice (when asked); pretty much anything you need, he will try to make it happen. Now he needs his friends and family to return the favor.
The picture on this GoFundMe is from when I was doing cancer treatment 7 years ago. He came to every treatment and every appointment. This time in our lives sparked an idea that he has been working to make happen over the last 6 years. It is called Life Over Debt. It is a program that he is working to get all credit unions and banks to offer their clients or members that if they have a member who is in cancer treatment, they will pause or even forgive their debt while they are in treatment. He has been putting so much of his own time and money into this program.
Right now, he is on the verge of some big things potentially happening with it, which will compensate him. Yet, as any entrepreneur has probably run into, the money he needs is no longer there to make up the time he’s waiting to see if the other things come through. He does not want to give up on this program because he feels he owes it to all cancer patients. Yet, he is facing the reality of the money we need for our daily lives not being there. Most of this work he’s been doing over the last five years has gone unpaid. He has supplemented it with his photography, speaking engagements, consulting, and coaching work he has done for clients. But unfortunately, he is now at a point where if he does not get some funds coming in soon, he may have to give up on the project.
If you know Andy, this is not something he wants to do. He has no idea that I am putting this out there, but I know I need to be the voice that asks for him. If you’ve ever watched It’s a Wonderful Life, which is one of Andy’s favorite movies, I want to be his Mary. So, I am asking that if Andy has ever helped you in any way, either with his money, his words, his great listening skills, or just sharing your life, please help me make a miracle happen. One he isn’t even expecting, to get him through the next couple of months until he hears from these potential partnerships. As his wife and the person who believes in him the most, I thank you with all of my heart.
