Help Andrew Volunteer for Legacy Refuge in Europe

Hi! My name is Andrew Busenlener, and I am an Elementary Music Teacher in Georgia. This summer I have the opportunity to volunteer for Legacy Refuge, an amazing organization whose mission is to see every orphaned child in Ukraine saved, loved, adopted, and empowered to live a healthy productive life and reach their God-given potential. They host summer camps all over Europe where they teach Ukrainian refugee children of all ages valuable coping skills, life lessons, and how to live an empowered and joyful childhood despite their situation. My role at the camps would be as a counselor and small group leader. I am hoping to use my experience as a music teacher to bring the kids fulfillment and joy through performing and listening to music!

Because the cost per volunteer is so high, Legacy Refuge has requested we help pay for our own attendance. This will allow them to save money to benefit the children and continue to grow the program. The price of my plane ticket, housing, and food for the trip amounts to roughly $4000, and I’ve started a GoFundMe where you can contribute to help me reach that goal. Every donation, large or small, is a true blessing that will help Legacy Refuge devote more money towards these kids’ adoptions, safety, and overall fulfillment this summer.

I cannot express enough how incredible of an experience these summer camps are for the kids. Legacy Refuge is such a necessary and uplifting organization, and their camps have helped build strong communities all over Europe. The Ukrainian refugee crisis is a terrible tragedy, and Legacy Refuge’s work is helping ease its effects on the country’s most vulnerable population. If I can even make a small contribution to that work this summer, it will be worth it.
