Hi, my name is Andrew, and like many in the western parishes of Jamaica (I live in the small district of Shepherds Hall, which overlooks Chigwell and is situated between Thompson Hill and Gurneys Mount), my home was destroyed during the passage of Hurricane Melissa. I salvaged what I could and covered what remains with tarpaulins for now, as I have no other choice at the moment.

The hardest part of all this was watching my now 6-year-old pick up his toys from the rubble. I'm not one to ask for help or share my struggles with anyone, as I pride myself on always being able to make things work and figure things out on my own. But like someone reminded me a few days ago, even Jesus had help carrying the cross.

So, here I am, asking for help as I try to rebuild my life. Donations will be used to purchase building materials to initiate the rebuilding process, as I strive to work as many hours as safely possible to move forward. No amount is too small and is greatly appreciated as I try to rebuild a safe space for my family.
