My name is Andrea, and I’ve been a resident of this mountain community for ten years. I’m a local mom to a special needs teen, and many of you know me as a dedicated pet sitter. I’m also the dog mom to Tiberius, our firefighter support dog, who brings comfort to fire departments across California. I also volunteer with our local fire department, helping coordinate our annual BBQ—a tradition I’m proud to be part of. I’ve always tried to help others and rarely ask for help myself, but right now, my family and I are facing an emergency that we can’t get through alone.
Recently, we moved in hopes of making a fresh start. Instead, we found ourselves in a rental nightmare. After less than a month, our landlords are wrongfully evicting us and witholding funds paid. Without that $9k we are struggling to get back on our feet especially with the extra bills. Since our rental was not ready the landlord had us in the main house which has no heat, keeping the house temp around 45-60 degrees. Moving into the original unit is no longer an option. We were dealing with constant harassment and threats as well. It's developed into far more than that and we had have to move out for our own health and safety. I have a teenager with autism who is extremely depressed and is really struggling mentally through all this.
Anyone who knows me knows that asking for help is something I'm not good at , but this string of events has really got me stuck. Funds are needed for moving expenses, storage fees and legal fees. Anything helps right now and is greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading and for any support you can offer.
