Hello, I am doing this fundraising for a taxi for a friend of my family in India, Rajastan.
Shamsher Khan, who has a severe physical mobility disabilty, caused by untreated Polio from childhood, down the right leg and foot. To help him buy a taxi in order to earn a living and help support his elderly parents, wife, young child and baby. All are living in poor, and extreme poverty in Rajastan, India. Shamsher, who is 32 yrs old, comes from a family of orthodox Muslims who are deeply spiritual and religious in nature. Shamsher uses a large, long bamboo stick that he holds with his hands to support the weight of his left side when walking, and it is very difficult because it requires a lot of balance, coordination and strength. On many occasions, he has fallen due to weakness and heat exhaustion, and become unconscious and carried back home by family members, so Shamsher does require Carer support from the family and relies on that help. Shamsher suffers from an enlarged prostate due to inflammation caused by a groin injury, and requires urgent medical treatment and funding support. Securing a Taxi will boost his confidence and give the family hope for a better future.
Farida, Shamshers's wife has suffered from previous premature birth deaths and suffers from severe depression, and has a stomach medical condition that requires constant antibiotics and medical care to stop infections. Shamsher's father is very old and also becomes very ill, has a weak immune system and suffers from allergies that affect his skin.
The family lives in a ‘choperee’, that is a temporary tent like structure made from wooden poles, straw, and canvas cloth for the roof, with his wife Farida, 5 yrs old daughter, Nazareen, 3 month old baby boy ( sadly passed away on 21st October) due to a high fever, and both parents in their 70’s, father, Noor Mohamed ( sadly their father passed away early October 2026) and mother, Farjaree is now the main carer for Nazareen and Shamsher. The family are strict muslims, and perform their daily Namaz, daily prayers.
The family live in a small, and overcrowded space, in a temporary tent like, canopy and cloth shelter that is constantly exposed to all the elements, causing sickness, high fevers, during the cold winters, and monsoon seasons, to the elderly and young children; that has an open bathroom area, and a makeshift kitchen stove area. The land is owned by village elders who allow the family to stay there only for a short term period.
By securing a disability adapted taxi with charitable funding, Shamsher has plans to buy a plot in the future where the family can build a property on and call their own home. To provide desperate schooling tuition fees to educate his young daughter, Nazareen; and be able to purchase daily food provisions, ongoing medical care, clothing, and all other financial support requirements for his family. The goal is to become self-sufficient and independent by earning a living through taxi driving. As a father with a physical disability, there are many challenges to overcome, but Shamsher is a fighter, of strong faith and wants to succeed in his dreams. Please provide your support to make this possible and to reach our goal.
The funds will only be used to buy a Taxi, or seven-seater vehicle to transport children to and from school and for other taxi related work as a means to earn a living, support the family financially, especially schooling, medical, and education for his 4 yr old daughter; and to help buy a land plot later on, in order to build a family home.
I am grateful to those who can help support this project, to show kindness, caring and compassionation. Who have taken the time to read my genuine plea for help, and once again humbly request that you support and also offer a collective prayer to our True Creator God, so that they can grant their kind Grace in order for this charitable mission, and goal is blessed in every way possible. I kindly and most humbly request that any form of financial support will be much appreciated to fulfill this family's dreams and hopes for a brighter, better future. The taxi will be a symbol of hope and a legacy and lasting memory for the late memory of baby Lalaa. God bless all of humanity and shower their blessings on this cause. Thank you so much for reading. In India there is no social welfare system, so life is only about survival under extreme poverty conditions. Please support this genuine, charitable project and provide urgent, collective help and compassionate humanitarian support. Everything starts from that first spark of a dream that expands out into the infinite cosmos, receiving momentum and support. Thank you for reading. The Great Creator, God bless you all.
Imagine that baby's last moments having to live in a temporary hut, that is constantly leaking water, that is cold and exposed to the wind and pollution, malaria, typhoid and mosquitoes; where there is no privacy or central heating, draft proofing, to stop the bitter cold and the constant pollution of the raw wood brick cooking. It must have been a difficult life for any child living in those harsh conditions.
Important update: it is very sad that both Shamsher's father and now baby boy, who Shamsher sweetly calls, Lalaa have since passed away. It is a great tragedy for any parent to endure. The pain from the child must be overwhelming and it is a very difficult time for the family.
Let's join together and give the family some hope.
Thank you.
