My name is Ana Haringer. On Saturday, June 8, 2024, torrential rainfall and winds swept through Cartago, Costa Rica, where my family of seven resides. My family tried to stop the unexpected deluge of water, but their efforts were no match for Mother Nature. The waters rose and flooded their rental home. All furniture, all appliances, all food, clothing, and shoes, destroyed.
