Help an 88-Year-Old Veteran Get a Reliable Car
Donation protected
I’m reaching out on behalf of my one of my good friends, an 88-year-old U.S. veteran who has dedicated much of his life to serving others. Even now, he still looks out for seniors in our community and teaches fall-prevention skills to help keep them safe. He’s truly one of the kindest people I know.
Recently, he’s been through a very hard time. He had a car that was totaled in a wreck when another driver hit him. After going through insurance, he bought another vehicle, but only a few months later the internal oil pump failed, the engine blew, and he lost the car after putting all of his savings into repairs.
Now he’s walking everywhere in the summer heat, which is really tough at his age. He only has a few hundred dollars left, and what he needs most is just a basic, reliable car to get around town — nothing fancy. We’re not asking for handouts, but we’re hoping someone might know of an affordable, dependable vehicle (or even a veteran’s program that helps with transportation) so he can stay independent.
If anyone has leads on a car, resources for veterans, or even advice, it would mean the world to him. Thank you for reading and for caring about one of our community’s elders who has spent his life caring for others.
