Hi, my name is Julie Hooks, and I am raising money on behalf of my younger sister Amy, a mother of three, including her oldest, who is nonverbal and autistic.
This is the hardest thing our family has ever faced.
Years ago, while living in California, Amy discovered that her children, now ages 10, 8, and 7, were being sexually abused by their father. At the time, he was serving in the US Navy. Amy did what any mother would do: she reported the abuse immediately, hoping for justice and protection. But instead of investigating, the Navy quietly discharged him and swept the situation under the rug. For their safety, Amy moved to Texas to be closer to family, seeking support and a fresh start for the children and herself.
Now, after everything they’ve been through, the system is failing her again. The state of Texas is trying to reunify the children with the very man who abused them, despite the history of abuse, the trauma they endured, and the professional evaluations. The court is moving towards giving him parental rights and even visitation.
My sister is in a desperate fight to keep her children safe. She needs to hire an attorney, file motions, and continue this legal battle, but the financial cost is overwhelming.
WHY THIS IS SO URGENT:
:All three children have been in therapy since the abuse. Their therapist clearly stated that they do not need, or want, contact with their father
:Her 10-year-old son is nonverbal and autistic, unable to speak for himself.
:Amy is now facing overwhelming legal costs just to protect her children from further harm.
HOW CAN YOU HELP:
:Every donation goes directly towards legal fees and court costs
:Even $10 helps more than you know.
:If you can’t donate, please share this campaign with your community.
This isn’t just a custody battle. This is about safety, justice, and a mother’s right to protect her children from further trauma. Amy is standing up for them with everything she has, but she can’t do it alone.
Please help us stand with Amy and protect these three innocent children from being forced back into harm's way.
Sorry no picture of kid to protect their innocence.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much.
