Help Amparo secure safe housing and transportation!

Amparo is a pregnant single mother who has been facing an uphill battle to find secure housing and safe transportation for her family. Since leaving a relationship several months ago, she and her son haven't had a home to call their own or a car. They have been staying with friends, in motels and even in a shelter, and they rely on the bus system to get to work and school. But things are finally starting to turn around! This week Amparo was approved for an affordable apartment and she was able to buy a used car.

BUT she needs help to make these opportunities a reality! She can't drive her car legally until she pays off some old tickets. And she needs some savings so she can continue to pay rent during periods when she can't work, due to her pregnancy. We're especially eager to help her get access to a car before cold weather hits - walking in the cold is hard on anyone, but Amparo has scarring from a dog attack that causes her pain in cold weather.
