While feeding strays in South Dallas, I met Amil and his dog Alani. Amil is a senior veteran who has been living in a broken-down truck for almost two years. He served our country with honor, but now he has nothing—no family, no home, just his loyal dog by his side. Their days are spent trying to stay warm, safe, and fed. This is no way for anyone to live, especially someone who gave so much for others.

Alani is all Amil has left. She found him when he needed a friend most, and she never left his side. But now, Alani is suffering too—she has a torn ACL and is heartworm positive. I took her to the vet, and the medical bills are overwhelming. Amil’s love for Alani is the only light in his life, but they are both struggling to survive.

Funds raised will help them get into an apartment, furnish it, pay for future rent, and cover medical expenses for both Amil and Alani. Amil is a gentle, kind man who deserves dignity and hope. Please help give them a chance at a better life. Any support will change their world.
