Help Ami Get Back on the Road

Hi everyone,

My name is Ami, and I’m reaching out because I’m in a really tough situation. Over the past couple of months, my car has been giving me nonstop trouble. First, I had multiple tires pop—one after the other—which already made it hard to get to work and keep up with daily responsibilities. I was doing my best to manage, but then just a few days ago, my car was involved in a hit-and-run while parked.

The damage from the hit-and-run made everything worse. Now the car won’t run safely, and it’s not worth the cost to fix. I’ve looked into every option I can think of, but I can’t afford a new (or new-to-me) car on my own right now.

I’m trying to raise $5,500 to buy a reliable used vehicle. I work in New Orleans East, and without a car, I have no dependable way to get to work. Public transportation doesn’t reach the area I work in, and rideshare costs are way too high to be a long-term solution.

Having a car isn’t just about convenience—it’s my lifeline. It’s how I get to work, take care of my responsibilities, and stay stable. Any amount you’re able to give would be a huge help, and if you’re not in a place to donate, sharing this with your circle would mean just as much.
