Help Amelia to volunteer in a school in Zanzibar

Hi, my name is Amelia and I am currently in year 10 studying for my GCSE’s.

In July 2025 I am really excited to be travelling with African Adventures to Zanzibar. I will be going with a group from School to volunteer at a partner school which provides free education to disadvantaged children in communities with low incomes.

African Adventures is an award winning social enterprise who support a number of schools across Ghana, Kenya and Zanzibar, running a variety of initiatives to help to provide long-term sustainable development for the communities they work in. I decided to sign up to participate in the trip because it is a wonderful opportunity which will take me out of my comfort zone and I will be able to help others.

As part of my trip, I will be supporting with teaching and coaching of sports and/or building work, which could include molding bricks, building and painting new classrooms, toilet blocks, perimeter fences etc., all of which is much needed infrastructure for these schools.

I am aiming to fundraise the money I need for my trip, and I’m organising various fundraising events to ensure I reach my target. I am also willing to do odd jobs to help, please let me know if you need anything doing!

If you are able to spare a few pounds (or more ) to help me reach my target I will be really grateful.
