Hello my name is Rebecca Scirocco and Amber and got our Bachelor of Education together and instantly became friends. Today I am here to share her story.

I am reaching out to share a heartfelt initiative on behalf of my dear friend Amber—a remarkable single mother of three who has dedicated her life to overcoming seemingly insurmountable challenges.

Amber embodies strength and resilience. For all 37 years of her life, she has tirelessly pursued a brighter future, facing trauma, poverty, and adversity with unwavering kindness and grace. Her journey has been one of proving herself time and again, inspiring those around her with her tenacity and spirit.

Currently, Amber is raising two daughters in university and caring for her youngest, a five-year-old, all while navigating this journey without any child support. She carries the full financial and emotional responsibility of parenting and continues to show up every day with love and determination.

Recently, Amber endured a profoundly challenging separation that has left her grappling with significant financial burdens. She has incurred over $8,000 in legal fees and an additional $10,000 just to remove her ex-partner's name from her grandmother’s home—a cherished family residence for over 60 years. As a result, she now faces $18,000 in debt.

To compound her difficulties, the previous work done on the home has not met safety standards, requiring her to pay out of pocket for essential repairs—all while caring for her children and managing everyday expenses.

Throughout her life, Amber has tirelessly worked to create a better life for her family and community, never once asking for help until now.
