Amanda is a devoted mother to Estella (15) and Otto (9), living out of state without a nearby family support system. She has always been a fierce advocate for her children, putting their wellbeing first in every situation. Recently, Amanda faced a series of serious medical issues that led to an emergent health crisis, resulting in a 16-day hospitalization. During this time, she was physically unable to be present with her children, which set off a chain of life-changing events.
While Amanda was hospitalized, she lost her job, her housing, and most of their home furnishings. In the midst of this upheaval, her partner stepped away from the family. Amanda is still working to recover physically, as her health battle is ongoing. Despite these challenges, she remains hopeful and is doing everything she can to create stability and normalcy again for Estella and Otto. She is transitioning into a new career that better supports her health and her children’s wellbeing, and has been fortunate to connect with a strong network of social workers and mental health professionals.
Right now, Amanda and her children are starting from almost nothing. They do not have beds or basic furniture. We are simply looking for support to help turn a new apartment into a real home for these kids. Funds will go toward beds, furnishings, and the essentials needed to create a safe, stable space for them. Any support, whether through a donation or sharing this page, truly means everything to Amanda and her kids as they start over.
