Hi, my name is Nina and I am fundraising for my homeless friend Alvis here in South Africa, whom I got to know at the beginning of 2025 and needs money to receive his security guard certificate to finally enter the job market!
Meet Alvis, a 25-year-old yapper like me, full of energy, determination, and hope — a young man who has been surviving on the streets of Port Elizabeth since he was 18. Life hasn’t been easy, but he refuses to give up. Over this year, I’ve shared countless sunsets and deep conversations with him, and I know firsthand that he is trustworthy, kind, and hardworking .
Alvis recently took a huge step toward changing his life: he enrolled in a security officer training course, paying the first part of it by selling handmade necklaces he created on the beach (I am wearing one in the picture). Over the past months, he has continued to hustle — collecting and selling items like toilet brushes and brooms from the streets — and has now completed and passed the course with excellence ⭐.
Now, he just needs help covering the remaining course fees so he can receive his certificate and start working. He tried earning the entire sum by himself but now had to realize that accepting a little financial push it not a sign of weakness!
This donation will directly help him get off the streets and build a stable, independent life.
Alvis is ambitious: he dreams of living in a small flat one day, owning a car, and no longer being my "passenger prince" . He’s joined a skills development program in Port Elizabeth for a while, and every day he shows resilience, positivity, and kindness — qualities that make him a joy to know and a reliable person.
Your support — no matter how small — will give Alvis the chance he deserves. Let’s help him turn his hard work, creativity, and perseverance into a real opportunity for a fresh start and save his first proper job to be a security guard .
Please donate and share his story. Every contribution brings him one step closer to stability, hope and the dream he is chasing.
Any extra funds exceeding the remaining costs will go towards meals for him and the other homeless people he is staying with on the streets
We appreciate it!
