Help AlRazi Academy Grow and Thrive

The Islamic School of Des Moines, AlRazi Academy, is the first and only full-time K-8th Islamic school in the state of Iowa.

AlRazi Academy is an accredited independent non-public school in the state of Iowa, serving as an educational institution for K-8th and an Early Childhood Center/Child Care that serves children and families in the area.

AlRazi Academy was founded to give the children of our community an education that allows them to be proud of their Islamic and cultural heritage, successful in their careers, and great citizens and active members of a community. These students are learning without an indoor gym or enough indoor space to grow.

With the grace of God, our Islamic School of Des Moines, AlRazi Academy, is growing and looking for an expansion to accommodate the growth needs and to add more classes and grades K-12.

We are working on an incredible project to build an addition to the only full-time Islamic school in Iowa. This expansion will add 8 additional classrooms, a school Musala/Masjid (500 prayer spots), and an indoor gym. This will help us provide an Islamic education and preserve our faith through our youth for generations to come.

The money raised will help us with kickoff the first phase in this addition project, building a proper and safe learning area for the students, a gym for their physical activities, and to let loose and have fun, especially in the cold Iowa winter. As of now, the school has no indoor gym. Physical activities are a challenge during winter and rainy seasons as the school has to come up with ways to have fun during recess and physical activities time without a gym. Physical activities are a major factor for a healthy body and a healthy mind. For students to engage in their learning, it is important to have physical activities and sports.

With this fundraiser, our school can have an appropriate space for Salah times and Jum'aa prayers that can fit up to 500 people.

With this fundraiser, we could improve our school to give more to these students. We could improve their education to be more engaging and more entertaining. For the longest time, I had this dream of what the school could be. A big school, K-12, with many students eager to learn, a school with more books than any student can read, a school that keeps up with the advancements of technology, a school that has the means to give its students those memorable friendships and moments, a school that gives students a safe and large space and classrooms with enough resources to learn and grow, a school that the students will remember in the future as the beginning that jump-started their successful lives and helped them be proud of their Islamic and cultural heritage in a diverse environment to make them confident and eager to learn and excel. The dream is already unfolding into a reality, and with your help, it can unfold completely. - InshAllah -
