Help Alison's Mom in Times of Desperate Struggles

Hi, my name is Alison Granfield. I'm trying to raise funds for my mom. My mom is handicapped. She is on oxygen full-time and lives by herself. She's been going through a financial hardship for a little over two years now. This all started when my dad, her husband, passed away in April 2023. Ever since then, things have been getting worse and worse.

It has reached the point where my mom had to move two hours away. She can't afford to get her medications, she can't afford to pay her bills. She has considered ending her life because of these struggles. Unfortunately, I am in college and also can't afford to help her as I can barely afford my schooling.

This financial hardship comes from having to take on more financial responsibilities than before. She has had to pay for me to finish high school and get me into college. Mom has also had to pay for all the house essentials, bills, car payments, and rent. She has had to rely on others to help get food and to make payments. She mostly relies on her older sister. Mom has meals on wheels and gets monthly food from the local senior center.

Mom lives by herself and it has taken almost half a year to unpack and still isn't fully unpacked. She has had someone come in and help her unpack. This was paid through MassHealth. However, mom is behind on her insurance payments.

I'm trying to help her by taking off some of this financial burden. She's been going through so much and I want to be able to help her in any way that I can. Shortly after my father passed she also lost her parents. She's lost so many people in her life in these last two years. I don't like seeing my mom in the state that she's been in.
