My name is Alisha, and I’m a mother of three amazing children—ages 15, 11, and our youngest, who is just 3 years old and living with a heart condition. Until recently, we were staying with a family member, working hard and saving every dollar we could to secure a place of our own. Unfortunately, after a disagreement, we were asked to leave unexpectedly. With nowhere else to go, we’ve been staying in motels, using up all the savings we had set aside for a home. Now, we’ve run out of money, and my children and I are facing the real fear of not having a safe place to stay.
