Help Alisha & Her Daughter Rebuild After Cancer and Environmental Negligence

Hi, my name is Alisha and I am a single mum from Liverpool fighting through the hardest and most frightening chapter of my life.

In October 2025, I was diagnosed with breast cancer a tumour that appeared suddenly and aggressively after months of illness linked to an industrial HVAC system installed just a few feet from my home. This system belongs to a public building meant to support mental health, yet it was installed without proper consideration for residential safety and without the correct planning permissions. This has now reached a level where the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) are involved due to public-safety concerns.

Both myself and my daughter are disabled, vulnerable, and have been severely affected by this installation and the months of exposure.

When the system was switched on, our lives changed overnight

The HVAC system exposed us to dangerous levels of high-pitched hissing noise measured above 70 dB — nearly 35 dB over the legally recommended residential limit, along with constant vibration and strong chemical-type emissions. I had no idea of the full extent of the gases these machines can release or that I was ingesting. My body reacted instantly shaking, trembling and went under that much strain I was left in a continuous state of fight-or-flight for a period of 5 months. I cried, pleaded and begged for help from everyone and anyone and nobody listened.

The emotional, physical and financial strain of trying to survive this while protecting my daughter has been unbearable. I have carried this weight entirely alone.

Clear scans before exposure — cancer afterwards

My CT scan and chest X-ray in January and February 2025 were completely clear.

After months of exposure my health collapsed. Specialists now believe the severe environmental stress and physiological shock may have triggered dormant cells into becoming active, contributing to the rapid growth of my tumour overnight.

This has been devastating.

⚠️ Chemical exposure & severe medical complications

The exposure has disrupted my:

Gut bacteria
Bladder
Gynaecological health
Immune system

I’ve had persistent symptoms since August that antibiotics have not treated. I have visited my GP up to four or five times a week, begging for additional tests, but I’ve repeatedly been dismissed or misdirected — all while trying to prepare for cancer surgery.

️ No insurance. Rising rent. No safety net.

I have no health or home insurance
My rent increased in August
My disability income does not cover basic bills
I am unable to work
I am now battling cancer on top of everything else

I am terrified of losing our home — the only stability my daughter has.

⚖️ Trying to get legal help has been overwhelming

I have tried to obtain a solicitor, but my case involves several agencies and layers of responsibility. The complexity, not the lack of evidence is what makes this so difficult. I took this issue to the authorities and the courts however the seriousness of what now been formally made aware off and the full scale of the negligence we have suffered is far greater than anyone initially realised.

I cannot carry any more stress going into major surgery.
I need stability so I can recover and survive for my daughter.
We do not deserve to have our health destroyed by negligence from a public mental-health support building positioned just a few feet from our home.

How Donations Will Be Used

1. Rent shortfall & essential living costs - To prevent us falling into arrears and keep us safe this winter.

2. Specialist Toxicology and Essential Gut Tests - Not available on the NHS but desperately needed to confirm the chemical exposure and the damage it has caused.

3. Travel to oncology, surgery and private appointments

4. Therapy & emotional support - For both me and my daughter as we cope with trauma, fear, and instability.

️ 5. Post-surgery recovery essentials - To ensure I can safely heal and regain strength for treatment.

6. Any unexpected medical or urgent expenses

Cancer and environmental injury come with unpredictable costs medications, equipment, emergency appointments, or essential home needs. This support ensures we can manage anything urgent that comes up during treatment and recovery.

Why I’m Asking for Help

I am doing everything I can to stay alive for my daughter and right now, I am fighting cancer, disability, environmental injury, financial hardship and the emotional, physiological and physical damage by months of being ignored.

Your help no matter how small will keep us safe, warm, and supported and will give us a fighting chance to stabilise our lives, heal and eventually seek justice.

Thank you for reading, sharing, and standing with us.

With love and gratitude

Alisha & Elizabeth
