Hi, my name is Alicia. I’m 19 years old, and I’m asking for help to recover and repair my motorcycle, which was recently stolen. My bike gave me the freedom to get around, and without it, I’m really struggling.

In the early hours of July 26th, around 2:00 AM, my Benelli BN 125 was stolen from outside my home by three individuals. I discovered it was gone at about 3:40 AM and reported it to Merseyside Police right away.

When I spoke with the police, I was given two options: I could either have the bike recovered by them (which would include a recovery fee I couldn’t afford), or wait for the bike to be found and collect it myself to avoid any charges. I explained that I didn’t have the money to cover towing fees.

Unfortunately, when the bike was found in Wigan, it was recovered by Greater Manchester Police, who weren’t aware that I had declined recovery due to cost. Because of this, my bike was taken to a tow yard and I’ve been told I now owe £192 in towing fees, plus an additional £13 per day for storage.

As someone living alone in supported accommodation, surviving on a very limited income, I simply cannot afford these charges. That’s why I’ve come here to ask for support from the community to help me get my bike back.

Right now, I haven’t seen the full extent of the damage, as the police inspection is still ongoing. From what I’ve been told so far, the bike is repairable, with visible damage to the tank, fuel cap, and ignition. Two years ago, I had another bike stolen, and although it was recovered quickly, the repairs still cost around £400.

This isn’t easy for me to ask. A friend encouraged me to set up this GoFundMe, and I’m really hoping that with your kindness and generosity, I’ll be able to cover the recovery costs and repairs, and get back on the road.
