My best friend has been trying to have a baby with her wife for the past two years. There’s no one I know that would make better parents than these two.
Here’s their story of attempts for a baby- They have tried one round of IVF. Got pregnant and lost the baby. It was heartbreaking and devastating but the thought of the the next positive pregnancy was in freshly on their hearts. The other embryos that they had left did not make it.They were dedicated and lost weight before trying round two to try to up their chances. Unfortunately, IVF round two was a fail with no viable embryos. Jenny had a horrible reaction to the meds and had to have surgery and stay over night at the hospital for fibroids. Their insurance would no longer cover any additional IVF treatments so they moved to the less likely IUI treatments. During their 5 rounds of IUI they had no positive results. Doctor said that from his experience if IUI hasn’t worked by now, then it won’t and suggested that they stop IUI. He also stated that because of Jenny’s medical issues that he doesn’t want them to try IUI with her.
So now they are left going back to IVF. It’s very costly and they are trying to manage the expenses themselves. I’ve always told Alicia that I’m certain she will be a mom. It’s all she’s ever wanted. I know it’ll happen but, they really need help to get there. I hope you will have it in your hearts to donate. And if you cannot donate I hope you will pray.
