My name is Alexis. I am a 19 year old college student and working part-time as a server. I am now fostering my two younger siblings due to some unfortunate situations. My brother is 16 and my sister is 1. I was just accepted into an affordable housing program so we can move into a home without having to worry of losing the roof over our heads. The rental we're currently living in is has $4,700 of back rent due and another $2,450 on the first of March. If we don’t pay the total amount by the 7th we will get a 3 days notice. The landlord of the new rental is super supportive and is willing to work with us so we can move into a home I can afford, but we will need secure the funds for the deposit as soon as possible. I have been able to save some money but it's not enough in the little time we have so for the first time in my life I'm reaching out to family, friends, and strangers for help. I have been independent for so long trying to make do with what I can so this is really hard for me but I have to do it for the sake of my siblings well being.
