Hi everyone,

My name is Maria, and I am a single mother reaching out with a heavy heart but also with hope. My daughter Alexa lost her hearing aids back in September, and since then, her education… has been turned upside down.

Alexa depends on her hearing aids to hear, learn, communicate, and thrive. Without them, she has been struggling greatly in school. Her teachers have reached out with concern because she is now falling behind in English, French, and Math, simply because she can’t properly hear what’s being taught. Watching my child struggle in silence has been heartbreaking.

The cost to replace her hearing aids is $3,000, and unfortunately, this is not something I can afford on my own right now. I have explored every option available to me:

• I contacted the audiologist and insurance.

• I reached out to her father multiple times, but we are not on speaking terms really and I have received no help.

I am doing everything in my power … contacting foundations, programs, and resources … but time is critical. Every day she goes without her hearing aids is another day her education, confidence, and emotional well-being are affected.

This fundraiser is my last resort, and it is incredibly difficult for me to ask for help. But I am asking as a mother who just wants her child to be able to hear her teachers, hear her friends, and feel confident again.

If you are able to donate .. any amount, even $5 it will go directly toward replacing Alexa’s hearing aids. If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser means just as much.
