Help Alexa get Adopted!

Many of you know of our quest for me to be able to adopt Alexa. Step-parent adoptions are not easy, nor are they cheap.

We've had an attorney that we've worked with up until now, but our retainer has run out, and we have made the decision that we really need someone who specializes in family law, and specifically in the area of step-parent adoptions.

We received a wonderful recommendation from a friend of mine from high school and had a consultation with a new attorney last night. This attorney is incredibly passionate about family, and adoption, and especially step-parent adoption. She was adopted by her step-dad and the process is what inspired her to become a lawyer.

We need to pay a retainer of $5000 in order to get things going with this new attorney. We exhausted our savings on this as well as on an unexpected gallbladder removal for me at the end of the first week of November.
