My name is Sheila Lanni, and I’m reaching out as a mother who has watched her 28-year-old daughter, Alex, take on life with unstoppable energy and a heart full of dreams. Alex, a vibrant and bubbly young woman, was recently diagnosed with Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, a particularly aggressive form of breast cancer.

This diagnosis has been a shocking and emotional journey for our family, but Alex's spirit remains as bright as ever. She has always faced challenges head-on, and this battle is no different. Now, as her family and community, we’re rallying around her to help her fight, heal, and move forward with her dreams.

Meet Alex: An Aspiring Future Nurse and Mom

Alex is a passionate 28-year-old who dreams of becoming a Registered Nurse. She’s been working on her nursing school prerequisites because she has a deep desire to care for others. Alex is currently working as a Procedure Assistant at Eshaan Medical Spa, where she loves helping people feel their best. As of this past week, her oncologist has placed her on medical leave so she can focus entirely on treatment.

Born and raised in upstate New York, Alex has always been known for her contagious smile and outgoing personality. A true social butterfly, she naturally includes and uplifts those around her. Whether she’s bonding with family or friends, Alex radiates positivity and love.

In her free time, Alex has always loved the outdoors—fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, and soaking in the beauty of nature. She’s also an avid Buffalo Bills fan and sports lover, playing softball and volleyball throughout her school years. More recently, becoming an aunt this summer to baby Theodore has brought her endless joy and deepened her dream of one day starting a family of her own.

However, cancer has put her on an unexpected path. Alex’s treatment plan includes a grueling year of chemotherapy and surgeries. To protect her dream of becoming a mother, she has started the process to undergo egg retrieval and storage before treatment begins—a costly but essential step to preserve her fertility.
