My name is Aleta. I am the sole provider in my home that I share with my disabled mother. Last month, unexpectedly, I lost my job and with it, the ability to cover the cost of living for my mother and myself. We have been planning to move for some time, but now that I am unemployed, eviction is a very real possibility on the horizon for us. As things currently stand, our move may need to occur sooner than we anticipated. I am still looking for work in the meantime, but currently, I am unable to provide for us both and we cannot cover the cost of our rent and food with the assistance she receives each month alone. I am putting this out there to prepare for the hurdles we are to face with housing.

The funds raised here will be put directly towards the cost of our move to affordable housing and any other fees that may be incurred in relation to that. While it is by no means an easy time for anyone, I truly am faced with no other choice than to ask for help in a way I hoped never to have to experience in light of this sudden and unexpected loss of employment. My mother means the absolute world to me, and I would like to have housing secured for her while I continue my search for a job that will get us both back on our feet.
