Hello, my name is Alex Zayas, and I am starting a GoFundMe in order to help raise funds while my family and I currently deal with the ongoing situation of my father, Alejandro Zayas, who was recently detained by ICE. This situation occurred on Tuesday, September 23rd, in Calumet City, around Buffalo Ave. My father was off to go on his lunch break when he was then targeted and pulled over by an undercover ICE vehicle while driving. ICE presented themselves without a warrant and forcefully arrested and detained my father.

During this difficult moment in time, my family and I would appreciate it if we could receive any help we can get. My father was the sole provider in helping maintain all of our financial needs, and without him here, it is going to be difficult for us to continue forward with keeping up to pay our daily expenses.

My father has been living in this country for more than 20 years now and has worked so hard to be able to build a comfortable life for his family. He is not a criminal, he is not a danger or a threat to this country, he has always obeyed the laws of this country. It frustrates me to see someone who has been nothing but an amazing father, husband, brother, and friend be taken away from their loved ones for no absolute reason.
