Hello,
I am Russell Hatt, resident of Keremeos, a garden volunteer and the initiator of this communities show of support, for one whom we hold dear.
Albert McCormick serves as an inspiration to me and the entire community. He is a senior, with a ready smile and good cheer. He built and maintains the Inclusive and accessible gardens, in Keremeos, British Columbia. His garden tractor and off pavement transport has been an electric street scooter. That scooter pulled the harrow and packed rocks, right to its' very end. Without a thought for him self, Albert joyfully uses his pension putting on the community garden, which now leaves him insufficient reserves for "this" major expense.
This gofundme is our communities way to replace that dead scooter with a 2008 John Deere Gator, so that Albert may again.... go where his wheelchair can not, and do what only he can do. Albert is currently building a 14,000 square foot garden/greenhouse/arbor/water features, to go with the 16,000 square feet, that he already has in production.
In addition to providing fresh produce to our communities care homes, the new accessible, inclusive garden will serve as the communities occupational therapy center, for our large senior and challenged population.
We are here for Albert, as he has been here for this community.
Help us, get him back in the garden, where he serves purpose and good cheer.
