Help Jason & Alabama with their sleeper van!

This sweet doggo's name is Alabama. Alabama and her owner, Jason, are homeless and have been living on the streets in downtown Madison, WI for years. They are always in the corner of State and Henry, by the Triangle Market. Jason is super kind and always so appreciative of any help we are able to offer him. We’ve spoken to downtown police to ask where he could go to get a hotel that allows dogs and how much it costs, etc., and they knew exactly who we were referring to. They said what a great man he is (not an addict or criminal or anything along those lines).
We talked to the Jason, and he said he can stay with Bama at the Red Roof Inn for $65/night. They each get their own bed and crank up the heat. We gave him enough for a night as well as dog food/treats and food and snacks for him. When it was that last ice/cold spell on MLK day, we went to the Red Roof and talked to the front desk to pay one more night so he was sheltered for sure. The front desk attendant said they always have the same room and are able to keep things there since he is never any problem and always keeps his word paying his stays.
With windchills in the negative teens to 20’s this coming week, we are hoping to raise about $500 so we can go directly to the Red Roof and pay for his hotel for the week so they don’t have to worry about coming and going each day to hope to make enough for that night. $65/night x 8 nights (to get through this cold spell) is $520.

We would love to be able to do more with help from others, and hopefully the miracles of social media. At least enough where during these brutal cold months he can get him and Alabama into a hotel to take a hot shower, snuggle up in bed together, watch some TV, and get a good night's sleep.
