I am Akira and a mother of two girls (6 and 3 years old). We live in Philadelphia, PA and I am an art teacher to 450 students k-8 in South Philly.

I am currently going through a divorce and have had to move out of my house and rent an apartment for the past year. The apartment is twice as much each month in rent than my mortgage was. I also had to leave all my furniture and household belongings at my old house with my ex, so I had to buy all new furniture, plates, silverware, towels, bedding, pillows, everything!

This has depleted my savings and along with medical bills from recent ongoing health issues I am drowning and trying to stay afloat.

I am trying to purchase the house I am renting in order to build equity and lower my monthly expenses. I am trying to be able to properly stock the fridge for myself and my kids and buy them the things that they need (they’re rapidly growing and continuing to grow out of their clothes).
