I am Akansha Singhal, a Master’s student in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at North Carolina State University, and a proud recipient of several honors that reflect my spirit of excellence and service. I represented my state in volleyball (runner-up) and became a gold medalist in swimming. I’ve been recognized with awards for sustainability efforts, quality initiatives, and leadership in both academic and community settings. From volunteering with WWF India to teaching orphaned children through the Ansh Happiness Society, and caring for specially-abled kids at Arushi India, my journey has been one of purpose-driven action and unwavering resilience.

But beneath these accolades is a story of quiet, enduring strength. I was raised by my mother, a woman who chose courage over comfort. After facing the stigma and loneliness of divorce, she single-handedly raised me, sheltering me from the storm while fighting one of her own. Just when life seemed to settle, she faced her health issues, but I remember her hiding her pain behind a brave smile. We fought together, silently. Every hospital visit, every moment of uncertainty, taught me what true strength means. She didn’t just raise me; she became my reason to rise.

Now, I’ve been accepted into the Art of Living Teacher’s Training Program, from July 25th to August 10th, 2025 a step that aligns deeply with my calling to serve through wellness. Over the past year, I’ve experienced profound healing through Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s pathways, including SKY Breath Meditation, Sahaj Samadhi, and the Happiness Program, all of which helped me rediscover strength during the hardest phases of my life. I now wish to pass that strength on to help others breathe through their pain and reconnect with peace. But I currently have no funding to cover the $5,500 program fee, and I’m also actively seeking internships to support myself during my studies. Your support will not just fund a program it will help transform one survivor’s story into a source of healing for many more.
