Help Ainsley Kick Cancer’s @$$!
In March, 7-year-old Ainsley was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer – neuroblastoma. This cancer is usually found in younger patients before it has had time to grow too much, but, unfortunately for Ainsley, it wasn’t caught until now and she is considered high-risk.
To treat this aggressive high-risk disease, Ainsley has started a long journey of treatment that will include regular chemotherapy, surgery, more chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy and a stem cell transplant. This initial journey could take up to two years. And even if this original treatment is successful, there is a high risk that the cancer could return, so Ainsley is facing a lifetime of follow-up care. Ainsley is very blessed to have an army of support from family and friends. However, even with all the emotional and spiritual support, there is the reality of physical support needed to help her and the family through this journey. The funds raised will go to providing the additional care Ainsley needs outside of the hospital, including in-home accommodations to help her when she’s lucky enough to be out of the hospital, special dietary needs, and supplies to assist with her medical port care and maintenance. Additionally, though her two step-parents are working fulltime, her mom and dad have both been working only parttime to accommodate hospital stays and outpatient doctor visits. These funds will provide both families with some additional respite. Ainsley is a bright light and brings joy to all who know her. She’s a fighter and has remained positive and fierce even when her treatments are trying to diminish her. Help us rally around her strength so we can all be #AinsleyStrong.
