Support for Aileen and Ayla
My name is Aileen and I'm a new single Mommy!
This is one of the hardest things for me to write and admit, as I struggle to see through a veil of tears. I am in a very dire financial situation and this is my only way out. I'm not one to beg for help, I prefer to do everything on my own, but I have no other options. This is for the health, stability, and safety of me, my 9 month old daughter, Ayla, and fur babies.
Due to the pandemic and severe financial hardship (I currently have no income) I will be moving from Atlanta to CT at the end of October to move in with family. I have arranged to get out of my lease early, but I will still be in Atlanta through October. I desperately and immediately need money to cover 2 months rent, utilities (gas/electric) and monthly bills--cell phone, car insurance, and internet access. (to avoid eviction and utility shutoff--this can not happen while I am raising an infant!)
My daughter's biological father has completely abandoned us...he has not met her, nor has he offered us a single dime to assist us. Applying for state/local aid, and child support has been very slow due to the pandemic issues.
I work in the music/event industry, which has been severely affected by the pandemic and it has been hard to find time to devote to finding a stable work from home position as I am a first time single mom, who is still recovering from a healthy but high risk pregnancy/birth due to my age(I'm 41yrs old). I do not wish to work outside of my home due to also being considered high risk for the coronavirus living with chronic asthma and I do not want to put my daughter (who is healthy) as risk.
Our living conditions at home are deteriorating...a mold/mildew issue was discovered earlier this year, which is not ideal for anyone at all, especially since I suffer from allergies and asthma and I'm raising an infant. The leasing office has not done their best at resolving this issue, despite multiple complaints from me (they've been delaying maintenance on it due to the pandemic) ---they've treated the AC vents once, but it needs to be done again and I think it is now within the walls and ceiling. I am recently noticing multiple cracks, water stains, and moldy belongings, as well as deteriorating flooring--unsafe for all of us. We need to get out of here as soon as possible!!
PLEASE HELP US!!!
Financial breakdown of how donations will be used:
Rent--$750/month---need $1500
Utilities/bills--700/month--need$1400
The rest of funds raised will be put towards baby needs--diaper/wipes/basic needs as she grows, paying off debt so I can avoid bankruptcy, some extra padding as I settle in with family, and anything extra will be used to create a savings account for my daughter.
On The BRIGHT Side:
I am loving being a Mom!! Mothering has come so easy to me and Ayla is my surprise blessing! I dreamt of her years ago and thought that dream had passed, but God promised me a light and delivered my Unicorn Baby, complete with glitter and rainbows. Ayla is healthy, chill, and so happy---endless smiles and laughs, she loves to play, sing with me, snuggle, and dance. We have created the strongest bond through quarantine and I'm so excited to teach her everything I know.
Though it is tough for me to leave Atlanta and my huge support system here, I need the comfort and help of my family in CT right now as I begin this new chapter and create a better life for both of us. We will be back in Atlanta when the time is right!!
Thank you for your support and love!! May light always guide you and protect you. Dance within the PLURLIGHT and glow!
