Supporting My Beloved Aunt Rubiela Recover After Recent House Fire that happened on August 12, 2023.
Dear Family, Friends, and Neighbors:
I’m organizing an informal fundraiser to help my beloved Aunt Rubiela get back on her feet after a sudden and tragic fire just destroyed a large portion of her house this past weekend in my hometown of Pasto, Colombia.
The authorities believe that the fire started from a faulty gas line connected to their kitchen stove. Thankfully, my uncle and others nearby were able to stop the fire before it spread throughout the whole house, and everyone escaped unharmed. Nevertheless, the large damage caused by the flames, smoke, and water has rendered their kitchen and a large portion of their house unusable.

For those who don’t already know her, Aunt Rubiela is a rock in our family and an incredibly generous person who is always helping others (she was actually caring for my grandma in the hospital when this accident happened). I can’t remember a single important event in my life in which she wasn’t there helping and supporting me.
The financial burden associated with this ordeal is way beyond what my aunt can afford with her position as a school secretary, which is why I am turning to all of you for any and all support. If you’re able and willing (no pressure at all), we are collecting donations to send her for this difficult rebuilding process. Your donation, no matter how small, will make a tremendous difference to help her piece together what was lost and restore a sense of normalcy in their home.
Thank you for your consideration and support and please keep her in your thoughts.
