Help After a Fall: Mother and Daughter's Story
Donation protected
Fell 6/12/25 walking friend's dog. Released from Rehabilitation Center July 4th. Confined to a wheelchair (non-weight bearing on right leg and right arm).
Due to injuries, I won't be able to return to my job as a cashier at SunFest Market for weeks (6-8). I will know more tomorrow (7/8/25) when I see my surgeons for the first post-op visit.
My 85-year-old mother is caring for me at home. I'm embarrassed to ask for help, but cannot stand to see my mother stressed and worried about my financial status and lack of income. Not knowing when I will be able to physically go back to work. My mother relies on only her Social Security check monthly and has to help me with monthly expenses. It's very scary to think about.
I'm just putting my faith in God and praying things will work out; He has not let me down yet. I do want to thank all the staff members and volunteers at the Holiday Island Fire Department for helping the day of my injuries and even helping me get into my house the day I was discharged from rehab. My house is not set up for wheelchair access.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I'm truly blessed to live in such an amazing community.
